Edie McKee and Charley Harper met while studying at the Art Academy in Cincinnati. She, an artist in her own right, was a painter, printmaker, photographer, weaver as well as "best friend" and Harper's most respected critic. "Our minds work in parallel. We delight in absurdities, ironies, incongruities, oxymorons, paradoxes, puns. When either of us is stuck on a project, the other can usually suggest a way to get on with it." Their son, Brett also took an interest in Art. He created a series of botanical serigraphs and is an avid writer.
